Aikido Genseikan Dojo,

In Prospect Heights, IL is an open community dedicated to traditional martial art training. All are welcome, and beginners may start training at any time. We are located across the street from Hersey High School, within the Midwest Shotokan Karate and Fitness Center.

Genseikan is a member dojo of Shinjinkai, an association dedicated to transmitting Japanese traditions of martial and fine arts. Shinjinkai is affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo through Aikido Shimbokukai.

Aikido: 7:30-8:30pm   Aikido: 6:45-7:45pm   Open Mat: 1:15-2:00pm
        Aikido: 2:00-3:00pm
        Aikido: 3:00-4:00pm

Genseikan members are also eligible to attend Aikido and Zen classes at the Great Lakes Aikido in Vernon Hills, and the Shinjinkai headquarters on Chicago's north side.

Just walk in or email us. We'll arrange for you to speak with an instructor, view a class, and begin your training program.

Membership and Monthly Dues

Dues for ongoing members are $90, payable at the begining of each month. Students are asked to make training commitments of at least 3 months.


Promotional Testing

is conducted several times a year. Rank promotions are registered with Shinjinkai and recognized by the Aikikai Foundation. New students are required to register with our national organization by submitting a $35 fee at the time of the first test.
